Should I use hcaptcha or reCAPTCHA?

Both hCaptcha and reCAPTCHA are reliable and effective options for blocking bots and spammers from submitting forms on your website. However, since automated bot and spamming technologies constantly adapt and improve, you may have to try both options to see which works for you.

Why did Google reCAPTCHA change to hcaptcha?

We recently migrated the CAPTCHA provider we use from Google's reCAPTCHA to a service provided by the independent hCaptcha. We're excited about this change because it helps address a privacy concern inherent to relying on a Google service that we've had for some time and also gives us more flexibility to customize the CAPTCHAs we show.

Does hcaptcha offer other types of CAPTCHA challenges?

Apart from image selection, hCaptcha doesn’t offer any other types of CAPTCHA challenges, but similar to reCAPTCHA, if you upgrade to the Enterprise plan, you can use an invisible version of the captcha to auto-pass most low-risk users.
